Peter Wessel Zapffe

Norwegian philosopher, author and mountaineer, and a serious photographer whose black-and-white images of Norwegian mountains, climbing life and landscapes were donated to the National Library of Norway with the requirement that they remain in the public domain. His photographs pair a climber's eye for line and mass with the stark tonality of interwar mountain light.
