Anders Beer Wilse

Norway's great documentary photographer. Over five decades Wilse photographed the whole country coming into its modern self — fjord steamers and new railways, fishermen and factory floors, city streets and mountain farms — building the single most important visual record of Norway in the first half of the twentieth century.
